Class CIP !

by Lex.

Hello everybody, this shall be my first post here. (:

Hoped you all enjoyed your long weekends! Just wanted to blog here about the wonderful saturday we have spent together as one. I didn't prepare a speech for debrief, because I didn't know that the event would be this successful. Here, I have got nothing much to give, but quite a bit to share. Alright, let's get to the point.

First of all, as I've said, I didn't expect that the whole class would want to participate in the CIP thing. You guys really surprised me. To add on, I didn't expect the whole class to be present on the day itself, I guess I was being really pessimistic. However, I believed that all of us had different goals in mind then, some of us here may just want the CIP hours or the service learning status in your testimonial; some went due to peer pressure; some went out of kindness; some, out of curiousity. Whatever it may be, I believe that this class had a common goal after the tour around the home. The goal to make someone smile.

The event was really a successful one, not because we managed to perform there, but rather because we managed to serve humanity and made someone smile. This success is built on our own individual successes. I believe that most of us have overcame our own obstacle to be able to interact with them; to sing with them. I am sure that some of you would have been fearful of even looking at them; some of you, fearful of singing. However, by the end of this event, all of us were able to sing in one voice. 08S27, we have proven to ourselves that we have the ability to attain success, it's all about taking the first step. I have to say, it's the process of overcoming our obstacles that made us successful, 3 cheers for us ! :D

The trip I hope, was a meaningful one. For sensitive people, I believe this trip would have caused some reflections on your part. After surviving such tough competitive environment in school, I believe most of us were more concerned about getting your grades and forgotten much about other things. These people are the minority of the society and they are been discriminated by others, we as human with the right moral values must never forget about the neglected part of society. (: Also, the happiness felt after this whole event was a different kind of happiness wasn't it? Eversince how long did you make someone smile from the bottom of the heart? And always remember, while you are complaining about the hot weather, these people wish they could express themselves freely.

Alright, zooming out from the event. Just have some thoughts of this class, I guess everyone have some thoughts about this class, it's just a matter of wanting to pen it down anot. After spending about half a year together as a class, a lot of minor or major events had happened. First, we were strangers as individuals, then we were strangers as cliques, then we started to know each other and create new friendships. I always thought of this class as a land divided, each owned by different traids, but one good thing is that, there wasn't so much of war. However, I feel that it could have been better. Sometimes, we are so comfortable in our own comfort zones that we don't want to venture out and make new friends.

It is definitely a good thing that we are not having wars within ourselves, but wouldn't it be better if we were a state of one? Since we can overcome our own obstacle to perform for the disabled in just merely half an hour or so, shouldn't we prove ourselves worthy by overcoming this obstacles we have in venturing out of our comfort zone? After 6 months, we still don't have something that belongs to solely ourselves, we don't have a class tee, we haven't had a class lunch or dinner, neither a class outing. Everyone, let's step out of our comfort zone and make this class one that is filled with warmth and harmony. We shall strive in regardless of posts, cliques, religions and race okay? Don't always let Zarina or other usual people initiate things, we can always opt ourselves alright! Let's move on!

By the way, the Stuff Nurse was very touched by us and would like to see us soon, maybe someone else would like to initiate another visit there? We can have a bond with them!
