CLASS CHALET IS CHANGED TO 5TH-7TH NOVEMBER.

This change is brought about due to a sudden discovery that there's I&R final submission and filing of GPF from 9 to 10.30am.

The new plan is to go to the chalet after school. Meet at tanah merah mrt at 1.15pm. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE caz the bus will be leaving at 1.30pm sharp. If you miss the bus you will have to wait for 1 hour before the next bus comes. In the case when anybody is late, we will not wait.

Here's the plan for the chalet.

5th November

2pm- reach chalet

2-3pm - Rest

3-6pm - Games [planned by gamemasters]

6pm- Night - BBQ

After BBQ will be free time.

6th November

Morning - Go school

After school - Play a game called 'food word road mouth' aka 食字路口 in chinese. The rules of the game is simple. Will explain later.

After the game, free time till 8pm.

8-11pm - Games

11pm< - Free time.

7th November

We will be checking out in the morning. So there won't be any activities. If you guys wanna go anywhere else after the chalet can be planned then.

Alright, this is the schedule, but can be subject to changes, depending on how it goes on. I am trying my best to make the games as fun as possible :D

Here's how to play the game called food word road mouth. I will be dividing you guys into groups of 4. I will bring you guys to a place to eat a food (1 group share 1 serving), for example, chicken rice. After that your group will be on your own.

After that, you are supposed to continue to go to places to eat food. But the food that you eat cannot be any food. The first alphabet of the name of the food have to be the last letter of the last food you eat.

Example: Chicken rice --> Egg --> Goreng Pisang

Before your group finishes each food, all members must take a photo of them putting the food into the mouth as there will be no gamemasters following, the photos will serve as evidence that you ate the food.

When you reach the 7th food, you will proceed to a place (place i have not confirmed yet, will tell you guys on that day itself). At that place, your group will be given a challenge to do. After completing the challenge, you will be given the final food you have to eat. Then proceed to get to eat the final food.

Example:

7th food is chicken rice. The food you have to end with is Goreng pisang.

chicken rice --> egg --> goreng pisang

Which means you will still have to follow the rules of the game till you reach the last food. If you are lucky, the last alphabet of the 7th food may coincide with the first alphabet of the last food you have to eat.

After you have finished the last food, go back to the chalet. A gamemaster will be there to present you with the final challenge. Complete the challenge before you can win.

Photos of ALL members eating the food is very important. If without photos, you cannot win.

The aim of the game is to get to eat the final food and complete all challenges before other groups. You can go any part of singapore to eat the food. The cost of the food will be split equally among group members as it will be considered as your lunch for the day.

There might be a prize for the winning group. (tentative)

class chalet coming up. the chalet has already been booked. so hope everyone can try to make it. sorry for the short notice.

Why so long? [4days 3nights]

Because my mother is a taka staff, they can book this chalet at a special staff rate. However the timing they can book will be tuesday-friday or saturday to monday only, so i asked her to book the tuesday to friday one.

What if i can only make it for 1 or 2 days, do i pay the same amount as the rest?

I know money is a very sensitive issue. However, i would like to say that whoever goes, stay overnight or not, no matter 1 or 2 or 3 nights, will pay the same rate for the chalet. what i want to say is that, the chalet is really cheap already. about $100 for 3nights. if u want to know the normal rates for public, here's the website.

for the dates we are booking, it's at least $456 per night. calculating 3 nights, it would be $1368 in total. we are only paying about $100, so why complain? if about 20 people turn up, each will only have to pay about $5 for the chalet. so i hope that everybody can cooperate. thanks :)

Can I only go for 1 or 2 days?

Yes of course! I will be glad as long as you turn up, no matter for how long caz i know you have tried your best :)

What will we be doing there?

I will be planning activities, activities not known yet now caz i need time to plan. but if you want to know what facilities are there, here are the details.

How do you get there?

Take mrt to tanah merah mrt, then they provide free shuttle bus from the mrt station. after u scanned your card when you come out of the mrt station, turn left then exit by exit A. then go up the escalator and wait at the taxi stand for the bus to arrive. i will confirm the bungalow number with you again.

I have OP on 4th november and it ends quite late. How?

Most people would have OP. perhaps you guys may want to arrange among youselves to meet somewhere then go together.

I am going alone. What if i get lost on my way there?

Follow the instructions i gave above surely won't get lost. In the case where you really get lost, you can call me at 81385015.

What if i am going later than 8.30 [the last shuttle bus from mrt]?

You can take a cab. You might want to share with some people. the address of the chalet is 10 Changi Coast Walk, Singapore 499739. Or, you can just tell the taxi driver that you want to go to SAFRA resort. They should know what u mean if u are taking cab from tanah merah mrt.

People from my clique are not going. I am the only one. Should I go? I will feel outcasted when i go.

Please do not think this way. As can be seen, everybody from our class are so friendly. there will be mixing around during the chalet. you will not feel outcasted. there will be activities planned too so please give myself and your classmates a chance :)

Is there mahjong table there?

Yes there is. But I am not sure how many we can loan at a time.

Will there be people bringing game consoles like xbox, ps3, ps2?

I will try to look for someone who will be willing to bring, but no gurantees. Without these game consoles, life can still be fun!

What's the check out time on 7th november?

It will be in the morning, about 10am if i am not wrong.

Anybody bringing poker cards?

I will bring, or find someone to help me bring :D

Will there be enough space to sleep if there's alot of people?

There are 2 rooms with 2 beds each. We can rent mattresses to sleep on the ground floor. The last time my family went there can be more than 20 people sleeping each time. provided you guys don't mind people sleeping beside you? haha

We need to go back to school on the 6th november. How are you going to solve this problem?

i will need to know the time we have to return to school, but i will definitely think of a solution to this. will update soon

mr kow told me it will most probably be 11am. the time needed to travel maybe about 1.5hours. i think we might need to take a cab to tanah merah mrt. sorry, really can't think of alternatives. if 4 to cab, then spilt costs, shouldn't be too expensive.

Is the place ghostly? Like what people say about all changi chalets?

Alright. this is a misconception. The address states it's at changi but in fact it's really not. The chalets where rumours come from is the aloha changi chalet. which is a far far place from the place we are going. i go there at least once every year. so yea, it's really clean :D

I will try to make sure that all of you will love this chalet, so i really really hope that all of you will try your best to turn up.

The bbq will be at the night of 5th november. bbq food will all be halal as well as utensils. The final cost you have to pay for the chalet is not confirmed yet. caz i will still have to include the cost of bbq food and food for breakfast and stuff. will let you know asap.

Those taking PW will need to return to school on 5th november at 9am to submit final I&R and filing of GPF. I just realised it from the portal. Sorry guys. I didn't know about that initially. However i hope that you are not put off by the fact that we need to return to school so many times in the short period of 4 days. On the 5th nov, after all the pw stuff, we will be playing a game which may require you to travel. For those who don't have pw, I might require you to make a trip down as well. Will confirm with you guys again. Everything is still undergoing planning. I hope that you will give me a chance and not be deterred from coming to the chalet. We will be travelling to school as a class and it will really improve our class relationship. I will not allow the trips to school make this chalet a boring one. So I really hope that nobody backs out last minute due to the hassle of travelling to and fro.

And please bring ur uniform to the chalet caz we need to go back to school.

cold

i realised many many people have been catching to a cold [aka the common cold] recently. guys, take care of your body well. you won't wanna be sick during the hols, can't enjoy, or mug. haha

steps that may help to cure a cold. though some ppl say there's no link, but no harm trying at all.

1] Take vitamin C tablets or eat citrus fuits.

2] Gargle salt water to reduce mucus in the throat

3] Take warm baths, can temporarily stop coughing.

4] drink loads of water

5] Sleep more

Heard from somewhere that when u take something very very spicy, your cold will be gone. i've never tried before. but you may want to try as a desperate attempt to get rid of your cold :)

class chalet

i have decided to organise a class chalet in the upcoming holidays, either in the month of november, december or january. i am not sure which chalet it will be yet caz i am asking my mother to help me check some chalets and if available, it will be quite cheap. for now, those who have already given me their holiday schedule, thx. for those who haven't given me yours, please give me asap as i want to settle the date asap. thanks all for your cooperation. currently, the most feasible dates from the schedule of all who replied will be 6-8th november and 26th-28th december. i will confirm with you guys again soon.

any other suggestions for class outing is still welcome as i can also organise a class outing as well as a class chalet. the more outings we have, the more fun our lives will be. hahaha. i might be putting a class outing during 5th november.

the idea of making a class identity have been shelved for a long time. i think for now, the most basic one would be class tshirt. but still open to suggestions.

i hope that the class identity thing can be settled by this year, best before the class chalet. i will try to do it, hope you guys can give more suggestions or state which you would prefer.

hey guys, thanks for turning up for the bbq. i can say it's a successful one. hope you guys really did have fun :)

well, the school year have come to an end. i will try my best to organise more outings, but have currently limited ideas on what to come out with. any1 can give any suggestions? just give suggestions and i should be able to organise one. hahaha
